Valentine's Day is Coming!!!

I'm very excited for Valentine's Day this year. It is one of my favorite holidays, though it has never been about the flowers or chocolates for me,  but the miniature fair that we always put on.
That's right a miniature Valentine's Fair where children can bring a doll or stuffed animal and buy miniature cakes, cookies, pies, etc; make mini floral arrangements, design and send Valentine's in the miniature post office, make miniature crafts and toys, and play games.  This Fair culminates in a miniature Valentine's tea party complete with pink punch, finger sandwiches, fruit skewers, etc, all miniature sized for the dolls and stuffed-animals of course!
More details to come...

...right now I find myself in a sea of felt teddy bear finger puppets that I'm cutting out and gluing to be decorated at this years mini fair.

Here's the little girl from my Valentine's paper doll. See the next Valentine's post for the full paperdoll printable.

The Main Idea

My whole life I've been interested in crafting and when I was older I volunteered, with the support and help of my dear mother, to host many "crafts for kids" events at different venues in our city. Many of the crafts we used for these events we adapted or designed ourselves and so I thought that I'd share some of those ideas on this blog.
I hope that some of the ideas will be useful and enjoyed by anyone working with children in any capacity or someone who, like me, may not have children of her own but is a child at heart.
I also hope that anyone who has any ideas or suggestions will PLEASE comment and share their knowledge and insight.
Thanks!
